Little Books of Big Somethings

BOOK DESIGN

The Little Books of Big Somethings are a collection of shared stories and words of wisdom from Canadian leader and inspirer Karen Radford. What started as a passion project for her sons, niece and nephew grew into a series of three books that capture her life experiences and advice to inspire readers to explore and reflect on their own stories.

Each story in these precious books is uniquely designed to capture the essence of the words. Pages are filled with playful typography, magical illustrations and an assortment of special die-cuts, foils, short sheets, and pockets. The books feature the work of 16 artists and illustrators from across Canada who thoughtfully interpreted the words into inspiring art.

These one of a kind books are meant to be the spark in someone’s journey of self exploration. After discovering them readers are encouraged to ‘share it forward’ by signing their name, leaving a token in the back pocket, share their own story online at YOSSA.org, and finally pass on the book to someone new.

My role on this project was designer, project manager, and art director.
